What Australia requires

These are the regulator’s own requirements, as the carrier publishes them. Ringee collects each one in the dashboard and tracks the review.

  1. 1

Proof of Address (National), Recent Utility Bill or Invoice

    document

A document evidencing the customer's physical address within the same country as the phone number being purchased, dated within the past 3 months. Acceptable documents include utility bills (electricity, water, gas, internet, landline telephone), bank statements, tax notices, or government-issued correspondence. The document must clearly show (1) the full name of the individual or registered business name, (2) the complete physical address (street, postal code, city, country), and (3) the document issue date. The document must be submitted as a PDF or clear color scan. Screenshots, handwritten documents, mobile phone bills (when not the proof of residence), and bills older than 3 months are not acceptable.

Example: A PDF of an Iberdrola electricity bill dated within the last 90 days, addressed to the customer at a Spanish residential address, for a Spain phone number order. The bill must show the customer's name, full service address, and the issuer's logo and billing date.

  2. 2

Contact Information (Name, Business Name, Phone Number)

    textual

Contact information for the business or end user, including: (1) the name of the contact person (full given name and family name), (2) the business name when the end user is a business (registered legal name where applicable; may be omitted or stated as 'N/A' for individual end users), and (3) one or more contact phone numbers where the business or end user can be reached. Contact person name and at least one phone number are mandatory; business name is required only when the end user is a business entity. Phone numbers should be in international E.164 format where possible.

Example: Contact: Maria García López | Business: Bloom & Petal Florist Ltd. | Phone: +34 612 345 678. For individual end users: Contact: John Smith | Business: N/A | Phone: +1 (555) 123-4567.

  3. 3

List of In-Service Australian Mobile Numbers (Purchaser Disclosure)

    textual

A list of all other activated prepaid mobile carriage services (Australian mobile numbers) currently supplied to the same Purchaser, as required by Australian regulations. If the Purchaser has no other in-service prepaid Australian mobile numbers, the response should clearly state 'None'. Numbers must be in international E.164 format starting with +61 followed by 9 digits. Australian mobile numbers begin with +614.

Example: +61412345678, +61423456789, +61434567890. Or, if the Purchaser has no other in-service AU mobile numbers: 'None'. Numbers must be in +61 international format.

  4. 4

Purchaser or Service Activator Confirmation (AU Mobile)

    textual

Confirmation, required by Australian regulations, of whether the end user is the Purchaser or the Service Activator of the prepaid mobile carriage service. PURCHASER means the individual who pays for the service during the sale transaction (or, where a carriage service provider extends a free invitation, the person who accepts the invitation). SERVICE ACTIVATOR means the person who requests activation of a prepaid mobile carriage service from the offering carriage service provider. The submitted value must clearly indicate one of the two roles.

Example: Purchaser (the individual who paid for the prepaid SIM at the point of sale). Or: Service Activator (the individual who activated the prepaid service via the carrier's portal or activation line).

  5. 5

Physical Address Within the Country of the Phone Number (National)

    address

A valid, real-world physical address located in the same country as the phone number being purchased. The address must include street name and number, postal or ZIP code, city, region or province (where applicable), and country. The address does not need to match the specific city or area code of the number; any address within the national borders is acceptable. P.O. boxes, virtual office addresses, mailbox-only services, and addresses outside the country of the phone number are not acceptable. The address should match the address shown on supporting identity or business registration documents where those are also required.

Example: For a Spanish phone number: Calle de Alcalá 42, 28014 Madrid, Spain. For a German phone number: Friedrichstraße 123, 10117 Berlin, Germany. The address must be a deliverable physical location, not a P.O. box or virtual mailbox.

  6. 6

Australian Mobile ID Verification (Onfido Process)

    action

An identity verification process required for Australian Mobile DIDs, conducted via Telnyx's partner Onfido. The customer (or Telnyx on the customer's behalf) generates a unique verification link and shares it with the end user. The end user accesses Onfido's secure portal via the link, uploads government-issued identification documents, and completes a real-time selfie/liveness check. The Telnyx team reviews the verification result; if Onfido approves and the documents pass review, this requirement is marked complete. This is an action-type requirement: no document is uploaded directly by the customer; the verification is completed via the Onfido flow.

Example: Generate an Onfido verification link via Telnyx and provide it to the end user. The end user uploads their Australian government-issued ID and completes a liveness selfie. The verification status updates automatically once Onfido completes its checks and the Telnyx team reviews the result.

  7. 7

End User Date of Birth (ISO 8601 Format)

    textual

The end user's full date of birth, submitted in ISO 8601 format (YYYY-MM-DD). The value must be a real calendar date, must indicate the person is at least 18 years old as of the submission date, and must match the date of birth shown on any accompanying identity document. Future dates and dates implying the person is a minor are not acceptable.

Example: 2002-06-15 (June 15, 2002). The format must be exactly four-digit year, two-digit month, two-digit day, separated by hyphens. Formats such as 06/15/2002, 15-06-2002, or 'June 15 2002' are not acceptable.
